Letter From The Man I Love
Baby, I miss you! You put me into a rage,
make me angry, as well as longing and ambitious.
...press-gang me into brutal jealousy.
I love you.

Whatchamacallit: XV
Floating through space comes easy.
Bass and mind and water.
When alligators swallow the milkyway they taste rain
and dusty bliss.
I walk the desert, my feet on the crocodiles back.
We switch gender, she loves me now.
Dark voices travel with us, a tribe of amphibian men.
The opposite of expectation lost it's riverbed.
We know now, how to rest in movement.

The wasp queen got hit by a hailstone whilst dancing at a Berlin festival.
The royal entourage brought steak and honey and bathed her in wheat beer.

Whatchamacallit: Sex And Dancing
Your eyes are black,
I dig it.
Your grip is hard,
I dig it.
Your hips are bouncing,
I dig it.
Touch me,
I dig it.
You're heavy,
I dig it.
Saliva,
I dig it.
Difference?
Pick it!

Wasp queen around my head,
I don't have any honey.
Wasp queen, can you
find me fifty bucks?
I want to burn some money.

Whatchamacallit: Sunny City Realisations
You're the devil, but anyhow the sun is shining.
I want to paint a thousand little devils,
you won't be recognized.
I'm the devil, I'll paint myself on the canvas, but
not next to you.
We'll be together amongst thousand pointy horns
and it won't matter what we did.

Tiny Etsian Feature: IV

It could be called unusual to do a feature on a recently closed etsy shop. But I've been wanting to write about this one forever, so, no restrictions! (...and also I'm keeping my fingers crossed that hopefully Kerrie will re-open again.)
Indeed there are not very many items in the shop of CRIMSON & CLOVER. But the few being displayed are as wonderful as can be. The selection consists of vintage and antique ('something at least a hundred years old') furnishings. Though it's not entirely the pieces themselves which make the shop as appealing as it is, but first of all the product photography. Kerrie Rosenheck shoots all of her arm chairs and bed frames and Regency lamps on her own rooftop in New York City. The setting and lighting is so atmospheric, that together with these carefully selected pieces, it always reminds me of the New York in The Way We Were.
And since you guys can't see for yourself now, I've included my favourite one of her pictures.

I must do this,
I have to and I shall.
I should what I want
and I may.
I'd like to and I could
if I would.

Paul Jung: Moving Images

Look closely.
Closer.
Even closer!
Wait, is that picture moving? I'm having a Hogwart's paintings - experience right here!
Paul Jung's minimalist gifs are really more like shortish short stories with tons of room for imagination in terms of storyline. Ah yes, before I forget: He takes static pictures too. Well, sort of: http://pauljung.co.uk

The floodlit buildings stayed behind eventually,
but the moon piggybacked orion and followed me all the way

Tiny Etsian Feature: III
When browsing through the huge art section of etsy, the thumbnails of Joël Penkman's pieces can be easily confused with photography. Indeed they are highly realistic prints of tempera paintings. Very tasty still lifes with a coolish yet blazing colour palette. The majority of motifs are foods such as popsicles, doughnuts, glasses of milk or (my favourite) a lovely arrangement of Holly Golightly's breakfast from "Breakfast At Tiffany's". Joël grinds and mixes his own colours, something very seldom applied by todays painters because of the time involved. But the results are marvellous. His work has been published in Food And Wine Magazine amongst others. He's currently living in the UK and has exhibited his art in the Royal Academy of the Arts in London, the Editions Gallery in Liverpool and various other galleries. Be sure to feast your eyes on his delicious selection of prints in his shop with a click on the banner.

Trivia At Night IV
I'm troubled by people who pose a complex question
and then seem bothered if you give them a
more-than-two-words answer.
And yes, I think "How's everything?" should be included in that.

Whatchamacallit VIII
One package of spark-fountains,
to pimp the flower-box.
Three party poppers from last year,
inside should be at least five pieces of confetti.
Two rainbow paper streamers,
will be blown and draped around the rubber plant in about three minutes.
(This is fun! Let's rummage through some more drawers
and see what else I can find...)
Oh my! Seven temporary tattoos!

Trivia At Night III
There's this new toilet paper in our bathroom.
On the packaging there's a drawing of
a pink flower
attached to a brown branch
which pokes through the hole of a bog roll.
Artistic assumptions anyone?

Secret Santa
Three, five centimeter, sand-filled fish ornaments I made for the annual "Has to be handmade!" Julklapp
at the University. They turned out to be a success and I'll make a
larger one today, from whats left of the fabric, for a sea-loving
family member for Christmas.
